While working with my clients on transitioning their lives, to be more aligned with their passion and motivation, I’m starting to see a pattern emerge. Often, I meet people with many years of work experience, who are underutilising all their professional skills during their ‘Personal Projects’.
Most will use the very basic skills they’ve gained such as how to use Word, Excell,. Some will even some kind of bullet point plan. But very few will use their full professional tool kit to boost the process. Even though they have things in there that they have used a thousand times at work.
I’m talking about things such as setting clear objectives. Breaking down the big chunks of work to smaller ones. Doing a regular follow up. Evaluating what work and doesn’t work. Reaching out to a colleague for second options. The examples are many!
The reason for this can be found in our Mindset. We might need to break down a few walls and beliefs about what to use where and when, and more importantly we need to believe that the objectives CAN be achieved. That Success IS possible.
If we have the right mindset, if we can tap in fully to our life experience for making our dreams come true, it will make all the difference in the world. And this is why having a experience coach at your side, asking the right questions and challenging the mindset is such a huge benefit.

Have you observed or experienced this? I’m so curious to hear you in the comments!
